A clinician, educator, and researcher shaped by women’s stories

Thirty years in women's health. Deeply curious about all of it.

A woman sitting on a rock wall outdoors in a desert landscape with hills and sparse vegetation, smiling at the camera on a sunny day.

I have spent nearly three decades in women’s health, and the longer I do this work, the more convinced I am that women are often asked to tolerate far too much before they are given language, options, or a meaningful explanation.

I came to hormone medicine because I could no longer ignore how many women were suffering in plain sight. Women would describe exhaustion, poor sleep, weight changes, low desire, anxiety, pain, brain fog, and the quiet grief of no longer feeling like themselves, often after being told everything was normal, stress-related, or simply part of getting older.

Women are excellent at suffering, but suffering should never be the standard of care.

My work is grounded in precision medicine because this is the science of how we age. I believe women deserve to understand their bodies, their options, and the many ways care can be individualized across midlife and beyond.

Teaching has become one of the most meaningful extensions of my clinical work. I translate years of clinical pattern recognition, hormone physiology, sexual medicine, and patient stories into education clinicians can actually use.

My goal is simple: to help women feel believed, and to help clinicians ask better questions, think more clearly, and care with more confidence, curiosity, and depth.

Women are excellent at suffering, but suffering should never be the standard of care.
— Melissa
